What does your flat-rate pricing include?
Our flat-rate packages include all the essentials for a bond-ready clean — kitchen, bathrooms, cupboards, floors, internal windows, wall spot cleaning, skirting boards, ceiling fans, exhaust fans, light blinds dusting, and more. No hourly charges. No hidden fees.
Why do agents require carpets to be steam cleaned?
Most Victorian rental agreements specify that carpets must be professionally steam cleaned before vacating. It’s a common agent requirement for bond return — and often outlined directly in your lease agreement.
Which areas do you service?
We service Metro Melbourne, and Ballarat & Surrounds.
How long does a vacate clean take?
It depends on the size and condition of the property. A 2–3 bedroom home typically takes 4–6 hours. We’ll give you an estimated duration upon booking confirmation.
Do I need to leave power and water on?
Yes — access to electricity and running water is essential. We can’t complete your clean without them. If you’re unsure, please confirm with your real estate or utility provider before the clean.
Do you clean furnished or lived-in homes?
No. ExitMaid is strictly for vacant end-of-lease properties. The space must be fully empty before we begin. This ensures your bond clean meets agent standards and nothing is missed.
Will I receive a cleaning report for my agent?
Yes — if you select the Premium Package or add the PDF Pack as an add-on, we provide a professional cleaning report with checklists, before/after photos, and steam cleaning certification.
Do you offer refunds if my agent isn’t happy?
We don’t offer refunds, but we stand by our work. If your agent raises any issues within 72 hours of the clean, we’ll return and rectify it for free — provided the issues relate to areas we cleaned and no one else has re-entered the property.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Yes — we allow free reschedules up to 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a fee. For urgent changes, call us directly.
Do you offer same-day or short-notice cleaning?
Yes, where possible! We prioritise urgent jobs, though it depends on availability — so book early if you’re under time pressure.
What’s your guarantee if something’s missed?
We back every clean with a bond-back guarantee. If your agent reports an issue within 72 hours, we’ll return and fix it — no extra charge.
How long should I allow for a vacate clean?
Estimate 4–6 hours for a 2–3 bed home, or 8–12 hours for a 3–4 bed property. Larger homes or premium packages may take longer.
What if I clean the property myself?
You can DIY, but pro cleans are often more cost-effective once you factor in equipment and time. Professionals also provide compliant results and documentation.
Should I be there when cleaners arrive?
No need to be present — but please leave a clear path, keys, power and water on. A walkthrough isn’t mandatory unless you’d like one.
What products and equipment do you use?
We use commercial-grade gear: HEPA-filter vacuums, hot-water steamers, sugar-soap solutions, eco-friendly degreasers, and professional-grade microfibre cloths for streak-free finishes.
What areas are commonly missed if you DIY?
Landlords often dock bond for missed areas like baseboards, air vents, inside cupboards, sills, and light fixtures. We ensure those are covered.
